About
Paul-Louis discovered singing at an early age as a chorister in the Maîtrise of the Cathedral of Le Puy-en-Velay, his hometown. At eighteen, he joined Virginie Pochon’s voice class at the École Nationale de Musique de Villeurbanne, then Pierre Ribémont’s class at the Conservatoire Régional de Lyon, where he obtained his Diplôme d’Études Musicales (DEM) in opera singing.
In 2022, he continued his training at the Conservatoire National Supérieur de Musique et de Danse de Paris (CNSMDP), in Frédéric Gindraux’s voice class and Anne Le Bozec’s class in French mélodie and Lied.
In September 2025, he joined the Schubert cohort of the Académie Jaroussky as well as the Académie Favart at the Opéra-Comique.
He has also taken part in masterclasses with Renée Fleming, Sabine Devieilhe, Wajdi Mouawad, Louis Langrée, Stéphane Degout and Raphaël Pichon.
Alongside his studies, Paul-Louis performs regularly as a soloist. On stage, he has sung a wide range of roles, including the Doctor in Isabelle Aboulker’s Jérémy Fisher, the Baron in Messager’s L’Amour masqué, Zamnis in Royer’s Almasis, and the Cat and the Grandfather Clock in Ravel’s L’Enfant et les Sortilèges. In 2025, he sang Count Almaviva in Mozart’s Le nozze di Figaro at the CNSMDP, conducted by Paul Daniel in a production by Mariame Clément, as well as the Sacristan in Puccini’s Tosca and the Husband in Poulenc’s Les Mamelles de Tirésias. In January 2026, he sang Brühlmann in Ted Huffman’s production of Werther, conducted by Raphaël Pichon at the Opéra-Comique.
A passionate oratorio singer, he is regularly invited to perform major works of the repertoire, including the Requiems of Fauré, Mozart and Dvořák, the Passions of Scarlatti and Bach, and Carl Orff’s Carmina Burana.
He also sings as a chorister with leading ensembles such as Correspondances (Sébastien Daucé), Pygmalion (Raphaël Pichon) and Les Éléments (Joël Suhubiette).
In September 2025, together with pianist Pierre Venissac, he won the Grand Prix at the 17th Concours International de la Mélodie de Gordes, along with the Théâtre de Compiègne Prize, the Festival de Montperreux Prize and the Saisons de la Voix de Gordes Prize.
